The black water that results from rainforest leaves loaded with tannins is stunning, as is the lush rainforest that grows right to the edge of the water in the canals of Costa Rica's Tortuguero National Park. When there are heavy rains, the forest floor is flooded throughout the park, and I took this image on a rainy day in the forest. The black water and the lush vegetation give the environment a primordial feel that I tried to capture in this image
