Federal Defence Minister Boris Pistorius, SPD, and the Inspector of the Army, Lieutenant General Alfons Mais, bid farewell to the 20 or so soldiers of the Lithuanian brigade's preliminary command at BER Airport. Here during a press statement. The preliminary command is to grow to a deployment staff of around 150 members of the German Armed Forces by the fourth quarter of 2024. The army brigade will be reorganised in Lithuania with the name Panzerbrigade 45. Following the official commissioning of the brigade in 2025, the other forces will be deployed starting in 2025. The Lithuanian brigade should be operational by the end of 2027. Berlin, 08.04.2024
