The Boye, stream, runs for 13.8 km through the towns of Gladbeck, Bottrop (photo) and Essen, a former cesspit, sewage river, since 2017 the sewage has been canalised, the Boye is sewage-free and in large parts, as here in Bottrop, renaturalised, along the Rheinbaben slag heap, part of the Emscher conversion project, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany
