Albertus Magnus, also Albert the Great, Albert of Cologne, (1206-1280) was a German philosopher, theologian and naturalist. He was Bishop of Regensburg from 1260 to 1262 and belonged to the Dominican Order. He was declared a Doctor of the Church and a saint in the Roman Catholic Church in 1931.
