Coastal protection, through wooden posts, paalhoofden, on the beach, breakwater, the piles, some of which are rammed into the sandy soil in double rows, slow down the waves and ocean currents and thus slow down the flow rate of seawater, so less sand is washed away from the stand, near Domburg, Walcheren peninsula in the Dutch province of Zeeland
