Planisphaerium Copernicanum sky diagram by Andreas Cellarius. It comes from his atlas Harmonia Macrocosmica, which was first published in 1660/1661. The map illustrates the heliocentric world view based on Nicolaus Copernicus, in which the planets Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn move in concentric orbits around the sun in the center. The illustration is known for its magnificent Baroque style with elaborate decorations, clouds and cherubs holding astronomical instruments, digitally restored reproduction of a 17th century original, authentic, exact date of presentation unknown
