Petr Pavel (President of the Czech Republic) and Tomáš Filip (great-grandson of the Czechoslovak army general Václav Ždímal, who was executed here in 1942) during a visit to the Plötzensee Memorial in Berlin on 9 July 2025. The visit was a personal wish of Mr Pavel, as of the more than 2, 800 people killed, 677 were Czechs, the second largest population group after the Germans
