Flavius Iovianus (born 331 in Singidunum, died 17 February 364 in Dadastana), Jovian for short, also known as Iovian, was Julian's successor as emperor of the Roman Empire. He reigned for only one winter, from 363 to 364. Jovian, who was a Christian, broke with the anti-Christian policies of his predecessor and also ended the latter's offensive against the Persian Sassanid Empire in the Peace of 363, authentic, digitally restored reproduction from a 19th century original, record date not stated
