Caption
Two men with Pacific giant perch (Stereolepis gigas), weight, approx. 1.80 meters long, around 1905, Pacific, Long Beach, coast of California, USA The name Jewfish mentioned in the picture is incorrect, because that is what the giant grouper (Epinephelus itajara) was called, but it is found in the Atlantic. The origin of the name Judenfisch is unclear. In 2001, however, the fish was renamed Atlantic Goliath Grouper by the American fishing company
