From 21 June to 2 November 2025, visitors to the special exhibition rooms at Moritzburg Castle will encounter a controversial and multi-layered topic. Gaudy signposts, a kayak on the castle terrace and a large exhibit in the central stone hall draw visitors' attention to the new exhibition Thin Ice - Inuit on Show. Exactly 200 years ago, the young Inuit George and Mary from Labrador set foot on Saxon soil for the first time. In 1825, they entertained the royal court in Moritzburg with hunting and rowing demonstrations, archery, fishing and the spectacular capsize roll on the castle pond. The exhibition focuses on the tragic story of George and Mary. Our aim is to tell the story of what happened 200 years ago in Moritzburg, Moritzburg, Saxony, Germany
