The Dresden Striezelmarkt is a Christmas market in Dresden. It has been held in Advent since 1434, usually on the Altmarkt square, and attracts an average of around two million visitors every year. It is the oldest certified Christmas market in Germany. After the attack in Magdeburg, security aspects once again become the focus of general interest.
