The Externsteine, a sandstone rock formation around 40 metres high in the Teutoburg Forest, are a natural landmark and a protected natural and cultural monument. They are regarded as a place of power and are said to have special cultural and historical significance. The rocks are located by the Wiembecketeich pond.
