Where does the road lead... View over the already closed old L276 road in Hambach Forest. The forest and the old road have become symbols of resistance against the expansion of lignite mining and the fight against advancing climate change. Large parts of Hambach Forest were cleared to make way for RWE's open-cast mine. Climate activists lived in tree houses in the forest for years to protest.
