The Norrmalmstorg robbery 23-28 august 1973. Kreditbanken on Normmalmstorg in Stockholm. The first criminal event in Sweden to be covered by live television. Jan-Erik Olsson was the robber and was joined by former cellmate and friend Clark Olofsson in the bank. The robbers gave up after that the police used teargas, no one of the hostages was hurt. A bank robbery and hostage crisis best known as the origin of the term Stockholm syndrome that is a proposed condition in which hostages develop a physological bond with their captors.
