Duisburg, Ruhr area, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany - HKM Hüttenwerk Krupp Mannesmann in Duisburg- Hüttenheim. Steel manufacturer Thyssen-Krupp Steel decides to separate from HKM. HKM operates two blast furnaces and a coking plant, is 50 per cent owned by Thyssen-Krupp's steel division, 30 per cent by Germany's second largest steel group Salzgitter and 20 per cent by the French tube manufacturer Vallourec. HKM supplies pre-material from slab and round continuous casting to the shareholders thyssenkrupp Steel Europe AG, Salzgitter Mannesmann GmbH and Vallourec Tubes S.A.S., which use it to manufacture finished products of all kinds in their processing plants
