Heavy-duty bridge test Load test on the closed Elbe bridge in Bad Schandau. The load-bearing capacity of the bridge is to be tested using autonomously moving heavy-duty modules with continuously increasing loads of up to 80 tonnes. More than 50 microphones were attached to the structure for this purpose, which are intended to make prestressing steel fractures inside the structure audible by measuring sound emissions. If no prestressing steel fractures can then be detected, the bridge could be partially opened to traffic from May. Cars and light lorries up to 3.5 tonnes as well as special trips for buses could then pass. However, monitoring of the bridge continues, Bad Schandau, Saxony, Germany, Europe
