Berlin, Germany - 18 March 2025: Sahra Wagenknecht (BSW) speaks in the Bundestag in front of the vote on reforming the debt brake to allow hundreds of billions of euros to be borrowed for defence, infrastructure and climate protection, which requires an amendment to the Basic Law with a two-thirds majority of MPs. The SPD and CDU/CSU had introduced the bill to amend the Basic Law in special sessions in the old Bundestag and put it to the vote due to different majorities in the new Bundestag, which will be constituted next week
