Ponca City, Oklahoma, A sculpture originally called 'This Land is Mine' in front of City Hall commemorates the Cherokee Strip Land Run of September 16, 1893. On that date, 100, 000 settlers were allowed enter formerly Indian territory to stake their claims to 'free land.'
