European Recovery Act, known as The Marshall Plan, the United States' programme for the rebuilding of Europe after World War II and to stop the spread of Communism. Beginning in 1947, the plan lasted for four years. Greek railway workers presenting the American Ambassador, Milton Katz, with a branch of an olive tree.
