Richard Grenville (1541?-1591) English naval commander and hero. Tennyson celebrated his bravery at Flores in 1591 in his poem "The Revenge: A Ballad of the Fleet". Engraving by Michiel van der Gucht (1660-1725) for Clarendon's "History".
