Robert Arthur Talbot Gascoyne Cecil, 3rd Marquis of Salisbury (1830-1903) English Conservative statesman. Prime Minister 1885, 1886, 1895-1902. Entered the House of Commons as a Conservative Member of Parliament in 1853 and was known as Lord Robert Cecil. On the death of his father in 1868 he inherited the title of Marquis and took his seat in the House of Lords. He is shown here addressing the Lords.
