Crimean (Russo-Turkish) War 1853-1856. 'A Hot Day in the Batteries'. Artillery battery laying siege to Sebastopol. Sebastopol (Sevastopol) was under siege from October 1854 to 11 September 1855 when it fell to the Allied forces and the Russians retreated.
