Henry, Prince of Wales (1594-1612) "the paragon prince", eldest son of James I & VI. Died of Typhoid(?) fever after swimming in the River Thames. A staunch Protestant, his early death changed the course of British, and perhaps European, history by leading to the succession to throne of his younger brother Charles I. Engraving after the portrait by Mytens.
