'Truro, from Trennick Lane', 1860. The Cornwall Railway, later part of the Great Western Railway (GWR), at Truro, showing one of Isambard Kingdom Brunel's (1806-1859) timber viaducts, built from Kyanzed yellow Baltic pine from Memel. The timberwork had a life of 30 years. Illustration by George Townsend (1818-1894) for "Views of Devonshire and Cornwall" by Henry Besley. (Exeter c1860). Engraving.
