Stourport-on-Severn from above the bridge, c1795 On left where many masts are shown, is the entrance to the Staffordshire and Worcester Canal. Stourport, at the junction of the rivers Stour and Severn, with the coming of canals in England after 1772, grew from just an ale house into a thriving port.
