Manuel Litran

He photographed celebrities in the 1950s and 1960s with a remarkable quality of light.

Manuel Litran studied painting at the School of Fine Arts in Algeria, where he was born, and started taking photos with his father. In 1952, he settled in Paris. He first went in to the research team for Paris Match beofre being hired as a reporter for the weekly magazine, in 1954. He left four years later for Jour de France. He went back to Paris Match, and 1960 an stayed there until 2000. He is renowned for the quality of his use of light and the composition of his portraits.
