Portraits of celebrities of the 60s and 70s


Michael Holtz was born on June 1st, 1937 in Neuilly-sur-Seine. He is one of the descendants of Napoleon I’s mother. During the 1960s and the 1970s, he photographed the most famous personalities such as Alfred Hitchcock, Aga Khan, Francis Bacon, Serge Gainsbourg, Charles Aznavour, Alberto Giacometti. He also made the portraits of fashion designers such as Karl Lagerfeld, Pierre Cardin, Marc Bohan, Pierre Balmain or Loris Azzaro. He worked for many prestigious French magazines: Paris Match, Jours de France, France Soir, Point de Vue, Images du Monde, but also international press. During the 1980s he decided to leave France and settle to Lichtenstein, then Andorra and finally Ibiza, where he died on April 3, 2002.
