Portraits of celebrities, on the set of TV shows, TV series. From 1970 to 2000. Jean-Marie Mazeau is a French eclectic photographer whose field of expertise extends from the press, with remarkable contributions to Paris Match - notably the scoop cover of "the bird-man over Paris" in the 1970s - to major audiovisual media such as Éditions Mondiales, Groupe Bauer and TF1. Jean-Marie Mazeau has a wide range of skills, working both in the studio to immortalise celebrities and on the television sets of programmes that have become cult favourites (Dimanche Martin, Champs Elysées, C'est encore mieux l'après-midi, etc). In 1982, he also photographed for the first time the stay in Paris of a 14-year-old Canadian singer, Céline Dion, who was still unknown at the time. During the 90s, he established himself as a key set photographer, contributing to such French iconic series as Navarro and Les Cordier, juge et flic. He went on to become artistic director of the Edimonde Group, before returning to his passion for photography with the Première film magazine and then Agence Stills. At the end of the 80s, he set up his own studio, Parking Studio, dedicated to producing record sleeves. Later, considering that photography and graphic design are one and the same, Jean-Marie Mazeau switched from one to the other, sometimes combining them simultaneously. Today, he strives to promote neo-pictorialism through exhibitions organised throughout France.
