The late Mr. Egron Lundgren, 1876. Engraving from a photograph of a '...well-known Swedish artist, member of the Society of Painters in Water Colours...In 1853 Mr. Lundgren came to London. Here her Majesty was graciously pleased to give him several commissions. These works were never exhibited...The King of Sweden conferred upon him the honour of knighthood and the order of Gustavus Vasa. Mr. Lundgren was highly accomplished, a great linguist, and a talented author...Mr. Lundgren's loss will be very much felt in this country, where he had so large a circle of art and other friends'.
