Carl Faberge, Russian jeweller and goldsmith, at work, 20th century. Faberge (1846-1920) is best known for his Easter eggs made from precious metals and gemstones for the Russian imperial family. In 1885 he was appointed court goldsmith by Tsar Nicholas II.
