US sergeant is honoured for prolongation of his service in Berlin

Ernst Lemmer (l), Federal minister for all-German matters, says thanks to US soldier Billy Harden (r) on the 1st of September in 1961and hands over a china plate with an imprinted Brandenburg Gate and a book concerning Berlin.
Harden had agreed volontarily to prolong his service for a year in the light of the sudden blocking sanctions of the Soviet authorities.
