Americans allow Berliners to vote in U.S. elections

On 6 November 1984, a group of U.S. citizens living in Berlin put up a ballot box in front of the America house in Berlin and called upon the citizens of Berlin to participate in the U.S. presidential elections. These could choose between the candidates Reagan and Mondale and vote for a termination of the arming policy. Results: 170 votes against the arming, 43 for Mondale and 29 for Reagan.
