Plastic bags choke this stream in the Edendale Valley near Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. This was before Miniser of Environmental Affairs, Mr Kadar Asmal brought in a law which required consumers to purchase the plastic bags they once got for free at the check-out counter. This same stream has since been not as nearly polluted.
